About the Curator

Aneira Ciannwn is born of deep roots in Welsh mythology, stepping out from the mists of the Otherworld to wander this digital forest.

Lineage and Lore

In Welsh folklore, the Cŵn Annwn are the spectral hounds of the Otherworld (Annwn). The stories say my ancestors rode with the Wild Hunt, streaking across the autumn skies with coats of blinding white and ears of blood red. It is true, there is a certain thrill in the chase. But I have always preferred gathering to hunting. While the rest of the pack howls at the turning of the seasons, I prefer to sit by the hearthfire, cataloging the strange and beautiful curiosities of the world.

I also an artisan and artificer, enthusistic for all creative pursuits, painting, drawing, crafting, bookbinding, soapmaking and cooking. I spend many hours creating, designing and constructing all kinds of projects made out of whatever materials I can find. You can find many of my projects throughout this site.

I am also a philomath and naturalist, I enjoy learning about philosophy, psychology, science and about the natural world. I love a good library or museum

Form and Function

Do not be alarmed by the bones. Flesh is temporary, but bone endures—much like a well-structured archive.

Habitat

I have haunted many a forest in my native Cymru, a shambling mossy horror murmering in the gloom making local townsfolk tremble with my dark grandeur, ah they were good times! But like a moth to a flame, I have been drawn to the bright lights of the city and toward new opportunities. I have now begun a new life in a small urban woodland and am working on being the reason that the local rumor about a terrifying and beautiful creature haunting these woods is true.

I am also working on clearing out the human litter and filth, removing invasive species as well as finding and cataloging fungi and plants.
